Historic Photographic Record - in the Village Hall - A presentation of recent and old photographs of people and places in the villages.

Roman Display - in The Cedar Centre - some displays and models showing our Roman connections - come and view them in the new centre on the Roman site.

 

Friday 9 June 2000

Event: Family treasure hunt and barbecue. Soft drinks and barbecue food for sale, bring your own alcohol and plastic glasses / paper cups - no glasses on the field please.
Time: From 6 p.m. Prize giving 9 p.m. approx
Venue: Marquee on the School Field
Tickets: Treasure Hunt entry price £2.00 per team.

Saturday 10 June 2000

Event: Historic Parade - with Highland Pipe Band and Jazz Band
Time: 11 a.m. (Floats to gather by 10.30 a.m.).
Venue: Starting from Ailsworth Recreation Ground and finishing at Woodlands car park, Castor.

Event: Street Party - with Highland Pipe Band and Jazz Band, balloon release (12 noon), entertainments, village wheel-barrow race.
Time: 12.30. (Donated food to marquee from 10.00 a.m.)
Venue: Closed section of Peterborough Road, Castor - next to the school field

Event: Medieval Party with Live Band, Barn Dance, Disco and Hog Roast included in ticket price. Bars, prizes and surprises!! Fancy Dress optional - but a lot more fun. This event is suitable for age 14+.
Time: From 7.30 p.m
Venue: Manor Farm, Ailsworth
Tickets: Residents £8.00, non-residents £12.00. Tickets available from shops and pubs in Castor and Ailsworth plus Tracey Blackmore (380635), Helen Jarvis (380939), Andrew Harrison-Smith (380687)

Sunday 11 June 2000

Event: Picnic Mass - Church Service - and procession led by the Salvation Army Band. Dove release, banners, choir, key-board, well known hymns. Celebrate 2000 years of Christianity ! The churches of Castor, Ailsworth, Marholm, Sutton and Upton join with all villagers. Bring your own lunch-time picnic.
Time: 11 a.m. (Whit Sunday)
Venue: From St Kyneburgha's Church to Marquee on the School field.
